We are excited to share that LKSIG, in partnership with ISOC Pulse, hosted the second global and first-ever journalist seminar in South Asia on internet shutdowns. Held on September 11, 2024, and organized by the Internet Society Pulse, the seminar explored how to prevent, report on, and navigate internet shutdowns. The session offered an in-depth examination of this pressing global issue and its far-reaching effects on societies, economies, and digital rights.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the ISOC Pulse team for their unwavering commitment to this vital global issue. A special appreciation goes to Robbie Mitchell for skillfully leading the session and to Dr. Thusitha Abeysekara. for his insightful contributions to the discussion. It was truly inspiring to collaborate with such dedicated professionals, all united by a shared passion for ensuring an open and accessible internet for everyone.

Let’s continue to advocate for an open, secure, and resilient internet. 💻🌍
