Global Encryption Day 2025 celebration event in Sri Lanka
In partnership with the Global Encryption Coalition and Internet Society (ISOC), and in colloboration with OSSEC Inc and National Institute of Business Management (NIBM), the Lanka School on Internet Governance (LKSIG) hosted the the 5th Annual Global Encryption Day in Sri Lanka, on October 21st 2025, at the NIBM auditorium, focusing on “Building a Safer Internet through Encryption” as part of the global celebration on October 21, 2025. Encryption plays a pivotal role in ensuring online safety and privacy, and we believe this event will foster important conversations about its impact on the local community. The programme comprised a 1.5-hour physical panel discussion and a keynote address by Mr. Harsha Wijayawardhana, FBCS, CITP, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer of Theekshana R&D. The session convened domain experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to deliberate on the critical role of encryption in the digital era.
